Concluding Memorandum on Mutual Cooperation between University of Maragheh and Middle East Polytechnic University

In line with the expansion of scientific and international cooperation, a Memorandum of cooperation was signed between the University of Maragheh and the Polytechnic University of the Middle East of Turkey.
The Middle East Technical University was established on November 15, 1956, under the name of the Middle East High Technology Institute with the aim of developing advanced scientific and technical knowledge in Turkey and other Middle Eastern countries in the field of basic sciences and engineering. The language of instruction at this university is English and currently has 29,000 students enrolled in the program, with over 2300 international students from 94 countries. 
There are 5 faculties and 5 graduate schools with 41 undergraduate and about 200 graduate degrees (masters and PhD). Based on Times worldwide ranking the METU is among 600-800. Since 2018 the METU has collaborated in 343 joint international project worth of 735 M€. Among the issues mentioned in the Memorandum are; joint research projects, exchange of professors and students, cooperation in inviting scholars and academic staff of the universities, cooperation in conducting joint training courses for Iranian and Turkish students, providing support for graduate and postgraduate degrees in pertinent fields and the transfer of knowledge and laboratory equipment.
