Dr. Hamlet Isakhanli Visited the University of Maragheh

The founder of Khazar University in the Republic of Azerbaijan and the dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Dr Bahman Amani, visited the University of Maragheh on 12, December, 2019.
The founder of Khazar University in the Republic of Azerbaijan, Dr Hamlet Isakhanli, and the dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages visited the University of Maragheh, according to the Public Relations Office of the University of Maragheh.
The Azerbaijani visitors took a glance ats the educational and research potentials of the university. Referring to the common cultural and historical grounds between Iran and Azerbaijan, Dr Isakhanli asked for the expansion of cooperation in education and research between the two universities.
Dr Lotfollahi Yaghin, the chancellor of the University of Maragheh, also expressed hope about the mutual activities of the universities to exchange educational and scientific experiences. Highlighting the importance of international scientific joint efforts, he added “We help students and the faculty members of both universities to do research by using the educational and scientific facilities of these institutions – facilities which correspond to the latest achievements in the world”.
Khazar University is the first privately owned university in the Republic of Azerbaijan. It was established by Dr Hamlet Isakhanli, who presided over the institution from 1991 to 2010. The university has three branches in Baku and four faculties; namely, Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, Faculty of Economics and Management, Faculty of Human Sciences and Social Sciences, and Faculty of Education. It stands somewhere between 200 and 300 in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings in 2019. The university is currently operating with over twenty research centres and more than 2,500 students and 250 faculty members.
